What is Robo Wunderkind?

Robo Wunderkind is a tool that changes the way kids play, learn, and create with tech in school and at home. Our product consists of modular robotics kits, programming apps, and a curriculum for educators. With Robo Wunderkind, children can build their own robots, customize them with LEGO® bricks, and program them to do an array of actions while learning the basic principles of coding, robotics, and STEM. Robo Wunderkind empowers kids to learn to code through the joy of play.


Which ages is Robo Wunderkind suitable for?

Robo Wunderkind is best suited for kids aged 5 and up. There are no age limits for building and programming your inventions with Robo Wunderkind. Our apps offer 3 complexity levels and are accompanied by Python and Arduino APIs for the advanced programmers, so everyone will find a coding activity to their liking.


How sturdy are the building blocks?

The blocks are durable and shock resistant: we drop-tested them with many children and they proved to sustain any regular damage that can occur while playtime.

How do children learn coding and robotics with Robo Wunderkind?

Our kits are supplied with all necessary electronic components that give children their first experience with robotics. From motors and lights to essential sensors, children have a variety of modules to explore and build with. By creating their own projects and engaging in open-end play, children gradually understand the principles of robotics, engineering, and design.


Our three intuitive apps offer many possibilities for children to program their creations:

  • Robo Live is our app that allows children to control their robots through a digital remote and learn the functions of building blocks.
  • Robo Code is our app with a graphical state machine interface, which means that children are coding using interactive colorful icons on the screen. This app teaches children the basic elements of coding such as If-then statements, Loops, Decision trees, and more.
  • Robo Blockly is our most advanced programming app, based on Scratch interface. The block-based programming environment allows learning complex concepts like Variables,  Functions, Operators, and Input-output mapping.

What is the difference between the Explorer Lite, Explorer Prime, and Explorer Pro kits?

The Explorer Lite, Prime, and Pro kits all share the common core functionality and are only different in the number of additional building blocks. The Explorer Lite kit has 6x modules (all core blocks are included), the Explorer Prime kit has 8x modules (additional sensors are included in this kit), and the Explorer Pro kit contains 15x modules (this is the most advanced kit with several sensors included). Do I or my child need any previous knowledge to use Robo Wunderkind?

Definitely not! No previous programming, technical, or even reading skills are required to start creating with Robo Wunderkind. Our apps are visual and intuitive enough for all kids aged 5+ to understand on their own. Sit back, relax, and enjoy watching your little ones having fun! Or join them and create together.

Which non-technical skills will children learn with Robo Wunderkind?

Playing with Robo Wunderkind is so much more than just coding. Children will learn problem-solving, math, computational and logical thinking skills, they will develop their creative thinking and team working abilities, and even communication competencies. How do I start with my robotics kit?

We are happy to provide all needed resources for you and your child to begin exploring your Robo Wunderkind 😊


To start with Robo Wunderkind, please refer to the Getting Started Guide and the Modules Guide provided with your kit.

We would also like to invite you to check out our How-to page. It contains all essential information about the first steps with your robotics kit and apps, and provides you with the best overview of your Robo's functionality.


In the Robo Live, Robo Code, and Robo Blockly apps, you can find a number of sample projects that progress from easy to difficult. We would recommend you to get started with them in order to get a basic understanding of how to remote control and program your robots.


In the Robo Code app, you can also find a Help section under the question mark (?) on the programming dashboard. You can look up the explanations for each coding function there.


Lastly, our YouTube channel has plenty of cool tutorials and how-tos that you can also use to get projectideas.

Do you have a written user manual?

Yes, we do! You will find a Getting Started Guide (a short book with all essentials), a Modules Guide (a short book explaining every module in detail), as well as the Safety & Handling information in a printed form inside of your Robo Wunderkind box.

How is Robo Wunderkind powered?

Robo Wunderkind uses rechargeable batteries inside of the Main Block (the orange piece). For charging it, you will only need a standard micro USB charger that we provide together with the kit.

What is the charging time and the battery life?

The full charging time is 3 hours. The battery life is up to 5 hours.

How safe is your product?

All components of Robo Wunderkind have passed the required toy safety certifications, so our product and the materials it’s made of are perfectly safe for children. Nevertheless, we do not recommend it for children under 36 months due to small parts that are included in the kit.

How can I purchase additional blocks?

We will make single blocks available for purchase on our website very soon - stay tuned! ;)

Does Robo Wunderkind require internet connection?

You don’t need an internet connection to play with your robots. However, internet connection is required to install the app and firmware updates that are released once in a while.

How do I update the firmware of my Robo Wunderkind?

Once you connect your Robo Wunderkind to one of the apps, the system will automatically prompt you to install a firmware update if a new version is available. Please follow the instructions in the app - the update process usually takes just a few minutes.

We have a special version of Robo Wunderkind made entirely for use in the classroom. What are the differences between Robo Live, Robo Code, and Robo Blockly?

Robo Live is our app that allows children to control their robots through a digital remote and learn the functions of building blocks.

In which languages are your apps?

Robo Live and Robo Code are language-independent apps: they contain the bare minimum amount of text that is in English, and the rest of the interface is visual and based on colorful icons. The Robo Blockly app is currently in English and it includes the English terms that are universal in the world of programming, thus preparing children for the next steps on their coding journey.

Which devices are compatible with your apps?

Robo Wunderkind apps are compatible with smartphones, tablets, and PCs. Your device needs to use Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and have the following tech specs:

iOS: version 10.0 or higher.

Android: version 4.4 or higher.

Windows: Windows 10 version or higher.

Fire OS: version 5 or higher.


How do I start with the apps?

For the very first steps with our apps, we recommend checking out our online Getting Started guide that will show you all essentials. Once you read through it, we recommend to start with the sample projects listed in our apps. When you complete all of them, you are ready to program on your own.

Can the projects be downloaded to the Robo and used without the app?

We are working on this feature and we plan to release it in the future - stay tuned for our updates!

I'm a parent, how can I unlock more projects?

To unlock more projects you just need to create an account in 3 simple steps:

1. Insert your e-mail address
2. Create a password
3. Select the "Home" option for "Where do you plan to use Robo Wunderkind?" question

Your account is now created and new projects are now available!

I'm a teacher, how can I unlock more projects?

To unlock more projects you just need to create an account in 3 simple steps:

1. Insert your e-mail address
2. Create a password
3. Select the "School" option for "Where do you plan to use Robo Wunderkind?" question

Your account is now created and new projects are now available! On the last screen, you can see your teacher's code - you can access it at any time in the app's settings. Share it with your students so they can log in by using the teacher's code and unlock more projects.

Where can I find my teacher's code?

You can access your teacher's code at any time in the app's settings. Share it with your students so they can log in by using the teacher's code and unlock more projects.

Do I need a different teacher's code for each student?

No, you don't need to have more than one teacher's code. Your teacher code is unique and it's associated with your teacher's account, you just need to share the code with your students and all of them will have access to new projects.

How can my students unlock more projects?

To unlock more projects your students don't need to create an account. You just need to share your teacher's code with them so they can log in and have more projects available. Here are the steps:

1. Click on one of the locked projects

2. Select the "I have a teacher's code" option

3. Insert the 6-digit teacher's code

Your students are now logged in and new projects are now available!

Why do I need to enable location services for Robo Wunderkind Apps?

The data protection of our product users is of utmost importance for us, we are happy to explain you this in full transparency.

First and foremost: Robo Wunderkind apps do not use any location data on the user for any purposes. We simply need to have this permission granted so that the Main Block of your robot could be updated.

In order to update the Main Block, we need to use Wi-Fi function on your device. Phone operating systems equate Wi-Fi usage to location services because it is technically possible to find the device location by using the internet through wifi. However (very important!), we use a Wi-Fi hotspot on the system cube to transfer the update, and it is not connected to the Internet. This means that you can make the update anywhere (at home or outdoors) with zero networks around and our update will still work.

When you do a firmware update for your Robo Wunderkind, you will connect to a Wi-FI network created by your own Robo (you are not connected to any actual Wi-Fi networks in that case, so it is technically impossible for us to track any data). We do not collect, store and use any data from our users, please see our Apps Privacy Policy here for more information about this. If you have more questions about our Apps Privacy Policy, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at support@robowunderkind.com.

Shipping, Returns & Warranty

How much is shipping?

For a limited time only, we offer free worldwide shipping on all orders.

How long does delivery take?

Depending on the shipping location, most orders get delivered within 4-7 business days.

How can I track my order?

When your order is shipped, you will receive an email with your tracking number. If you have issues tracking your order, please contact us at support@robowunderkind.com and we will get it sorted for you.

I would like to cancel my order - how do I do that?

You can cancel your order anytime before it is shipped. We are shipping all orders at 12:00 PM (CET time zone), Monday to Friday. Please email us at support@robowunderkind.com to get your order canceled.

What is your return policy?

We offer a 15-day return policy from the moment you receive your pre-order. Please note that in case you want to return your product within the 15-day period, the shipping costs are covered by us only in the European Union (we will send you a return label after we receive your return request). If you are based outside of the EU, you will have to cover the shipping costs.

How long is the warranty?

Our warranty is valid for 2 years in the EU and 1 year in the rest of the world.

What happens if a piece is originally broken/faulty?

Our warranty covers all Robo Wunderkind building blocks and parts. Please contact us at support@robowunderkind.com in case you receive a faulty item and we will replace it for free within the warranty period.

How much will I be charged at customs?

If your shipping destination is in the United States or the European Union, there is no import duty. If you are based outside of the USA or the EU, you will need to cover import duty, should any fees arise. The import duty and shipment processing fees may vary in different countries, so we recommend getting in touch with your local customs office to check this before ordering. We unfortunately will not be able to issue a refund in case you reject your shipment due to any customs fees.

Why haven't I received an order confirmation?

Please check your spam folder for the order confirmation. If you can’t find it there, please get in touch with us at support@robowunderkind.com and we will confirm your order.

My order is stuck at customs, what should I do?

Where do you ship to?

We are shipping to most countries worldwide. If your country is not in the list of the available destinations at the checkout, please contact us at support@robowunderkind.com and we will look into your case in more detail.

Earlier Robo Wunderkind generations

I have an older version of Robo Wunderkind (purchased until September 2020). Will my kit be compatible with any future Robo Wunderkind hardware and software?

No worries — all our future hardware and software products will be compatible with Robo Wunderkind you already have. If you have any specific questions about product compatibility, please reach out to us at support@robowunderkind.com.

I have an older version of Robo Wunderkind (purchased until September 2020). Will my product still be supported by your customer service?

We strive to provide the best customer experience for our users; even if your Robo Wunderkind kit version is not on the market anymore, we are always there to help should you have any questions. Please reach out to us at support@robowunderkind.com if you need any kind of help.

Have a technical question or issue?

My Robo Wunderkind is not recognized by the apps / Can't connect my Main Block

This issue might be related to either low battery, old app version, or the device that you are using.

We would like to ask you to perform the following steps:

  • Charge your Robo with the original USB cable for 2-3 hours.
  • Delete and re-download all 3 apps.
  • Make sure your Bluetooth is on.
  • Make sure to allow the apps to have full access in your smartphone’s settings, including location services (this is required for our apps to function, we are not collecting any location data).
  • Open one of the apps and run the firmware update in case an update is prompted. If the update needs to be done with the help of a USB cable, please use the one you received together with your kit.

Please be advised that our apps require the following specs:

  • Bluetooth Low Energy
  • Android Version 7.1 or newer
  • IOS version 10.0 or newer
  • Windows Version 8 or newer

In case those steps didn’t help you to solve the problem, please send us an email at support@robowunderkind.com and our team will make sure your Robo works as expected. Please remember to describe the issue as detailed as possible, including the information about your device type, operating system version, and your Robo Wunderkind model. This will help us to troubleshoot faster.

My Connector Block is not recognized by the apps

The Connector Block is not supposed to be recognized by the apps: just like the Wheels, Connectors, and the Wired Connector, this is just a functional part for building, which will not appear as "live" in your apps. So, rest assured that your block is not broken and you can continue using your Robo Wunderkind.

In case if you add the Connector Block to your robot, and then add additional modules on top of the Connector Block, which are not recognized by the apps, please get in touch with us at support@robowunderkind.com and we will troubleshoot this 👍

My Main Block is not charging

This problem might be related to the charging device, cable or the Main Block itself.

In case you are trying to charge your Main Block with the help of the USB cable provided with the kit: please try charging with a different charging device and cable for 2-3 hours.

In case this didn’t help you to solve your problem, please contact us at support@robowunderkind.com and we will make sure your Robo works as expected 👍

One of my blocks or pieces is broken, how can I replace it?

We are very sorry that one of your pieces stopped working and we'll make sure to send you a replacement as soon as possible. Please email us at support@robowunderkind.com including the following information:

  • A description of which part is not working and how it stopped working
  • Your Robo Wunderkind model
  • Your device and operating system
  • A photo or a short video illustrating the problem
  • Your shipping address for sending a replacement (please include your phone number as well)

A piece is missing in my kit, how can I receive it?

If you found that a piece is missing in your kit, we are going to send it to you as soon as possible to make sure that your child has a complete play experience with Robo Wunderkind.

  • Which part is missing
  • Your order number
  • The shipping address we should send the package to (please include your phone number as well)

How can I update the firmware of my Robo Wunderkind?

To update the firmware of your Robo Wunderkind, please perform the following steps:

  • Make sure you have the latest version of the Robo Code app installed on your device
  • Open Robo Code; if a firmware update is needed, you will see a special screens with short instructions
  • Follow the steps described in your app; the update process should not take longer than 3 minutes
Important: please make sure your Main Block is connected to a power source and do not disconnect it until the update is finished!

My firmware update is stuck and I can't complete it, what should I do?

If the firmware update process takes longer than 3 minutes, please follow these steps:

  • Restart your Main Block
  • Make sure that the Wi-Fi network Robo Wi-Fi is forgotten
  • Restart the Robo Code app
  • Try updating your firmware again

If the steps above did not help to solve the problem and your update still hangs, please reach out to us at support@robowunderkind.com - we will help you to troubleshoot this and to complete the update process 👍
